Transcript corrections: eyeball verdicts
8 Nov 2026 · verdicts for the 27 unsure corrections from the correct-transcript@3 run (17 broadcasts, air dates 22–25 Oct 2026). Checked against episode listings, guest announcements and source sites — not by listening to the recordings.
TL;DR
18 corrections are right or probably right, 6 are wrong, 3 need an ear. All six wrong rows had the right target but an invented spelling: Alistair Campbell’s word is actually Persevilience (the title of his new book), and the “rebel accountant” guest is Andy Oury of Oury Clark. The two Media Show corrections are right after all: the studio panel was Roger Mosey, Patrick Hurley and Baroness Morgan, so “both Roger and Patrick” is correct.
Score
- 18 right or probably right
- 6 wrong — right target, wrong spelling, needs re-run: Percivalience ×4 (should be
Persevilience), Andy Ory ×2 (should beAndy Oury) - 3 can’t tell without listening: row 56 (bullet/booklet), row 118 (rubbish pint, probably right), row 257 (Sharlene/Charlene, leaning right)
Notable confirmations
- Lymington (row 38): the story is New Forest for Ukraine’s aid lorry; their site thanks 5 News and Tessa Chapman.
- Meghan (row 135): Reuters and the Guardian confirmed the Met letter was shared with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
- Angela/Alan/Stefan/Wes: episode listings and standard knowledge settle Rayner (Kuenssberg 25/10 guest), Milburn (leads the Young People and Work review), Dennis and Streeting.
- Media Show (rows 344/345): panel was Roger Mosey, Patrick Hurley and Baroness Morgan; Rhodri Talfan Davies was interviewed separately.
Lessons for the correct-transcript prompt
- Corrections that invent a spelling (coined word, guest surname) should state a source or sit in an unresolved bucket — all six wrong rows had the right target and a made-up spelling.
- Same-file consistency: row 279 fixed “Full people?” but left the identical phrase seconds later unfixed. Fix both or neither.
